TypeFACE

Our first project, typeFACE, is coming to an end and was only to get us more familiar with typography. I chose to use American Typewriter and utilize the whole family. The letters from my name, Alyssa Pence, of course will be used as well as a short blurb about ourselves. " I am an artist, I am creative. I am a free spirit. I yearn for sand beneath my feet and a brush in my hand. I am a work in progress." The first image shows the photo I am using to go by. I chose to do the right side of my head because the right side of the brain is the creative one. Also, I wanted a very clean image, vulnerable even. The second image is the project with the mage taken away, still needs some work, but coming along the way I want it to. The third image just shows the typeface family and different weights that I am using to re-create my face/head!

Type Inspiration

Welp, this is my first post concerning typography inspiration. I will be posting regularly with different examples of typography I find randomly that inspire me. A few of these are from previous internet surfing. I always screenshot things that I love and typography that stands out.

For my personal site I wanted to use patterns, textures and warm colors. My "Home" page will have tabs for work, about, and contact information. Under my previous works tab, I'll will have sub-tabs for type design, motion design, painting, and pottery. Under my contact tab, I will have my blog URL, as well as links to my professional site such as Linked-in.

This band is booked for Slim's November 11th. I haven't heard any of their music but their website is....interesting. It's all broken up, tiled and very confusing. BUUUT...they do have a lot of information throughout, if you can find the links. This is definitely a "bad" design for the screen because the colors don't vibe, Santa Claus is involved, and it looks like they got a LITTLE sibling to do all the drawings and words.
